Holding No. 10 in Berenbusch (1824-1849)

The Krückeberg remained Brinksitzers of No. 10 Berenbusch from at least 1743-1744 until September of 1849 when Johann Heinrich (1806-1879) sold his inheritable tenancy right to Wilhelm Bornemann of Nordholtz.

The case file primarily concerns the petition of Window Krückeberg of no. 10 Berenbusch before the Rentkammer, in 8 July 1824, to be relieved of the feudal obligations of manual labor that accompanied being a Stätte holder. She was 58 years old and could not do the manual labor herself and her husband’s poor health had impoverished her because of medical expenses spent on physicians and medicines.

There are also a series of documents from August and September of 1849 in which "Colon Krückeberg", which is Johann Heinrich (1806-1879) petitions the Rentkammer to accept the sale of his holding to Wilhelm Boremann because he is immigrating to American, and the ship for America departs on September 15, 1849.
