Document 8: Petition of the wife of the new settler Krückeberg,

Summary

Why this document uses 394 F.S. instead of N.C. like most doccuments?

This particular document is:

  • a personal appearance / supplication (the wife appearing before the Chamber),

  • recorded as an act within an existing file, not as a new chamber decision.

Therefore:

  • it is indexed by the file bundle number (F.S.),

  • not by a new N.C. decision number.

The difference is:

  • N.C. = “decision number”

  • F.S. = “folder number”

[marginal note]
(undeciphered docket mark)

Acted upon in Bückeburg before the Chamber on 7 December 1809.

The wife of the new settler Krückeberg, No. 18 at Berenbusch, appeared and
stated that her husband would have to pay 17 Reichsthaler and 3 Groschen
for the house plot assigned to him, but that paying this sum all at once
would be a complete impossibility.

She therefore most humbly requested that payment of this amount be
graciously permitted in two installments, namely one half at Candlemas and
the other half at St. John’s Day of the coming year.

In witness thereof,
Berger

Resolution of the Chamber:
Payment in installments for the assigned house plot
will not be permitted.

Bückeburg, 11 December 1809.
